Briar Lane House can accommodate up to 7 guests in 4 upstairs bedrooms with a large living/dining room, separate kitchen and upstairs and downstairs bathrooms.
Briar Lane House was built in 1826 by George Collins. The original house has been at times the local doctor's residence, a private school, a brief period as a pub and a poultry farm in the 1950s when the outbuildings were erected.
Bought in 1969 by Greg and Gill Waddle, Peter's parents, much work was done to the old house, the second house was built and the sheds were converted into an art studio and gallery.
Gill established the accommodation as "Greg and Gill's Place" in the 1990s.
Gill has now retired and the property has been purchased by Peter and Susan who have decided to return the property to it's original name.
Evandale is a 20-minute drive from Launceston, 5 minutes to the airport and a convenient place to access the many Tamar Valley and Northern Midlands attractions.
Evandale has many wonderful examples of colonial buildings. It hosts the "National Penny-Farthing Championships" each February, the "Glover Prize" for landscape art in March, and the "Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival" in October. The Evandale Market runs every Sunday with food, craft, produce and bric-a-brac. The Evandale Light Rail and Steam Society run miniature train rides on Sundays.
